Gabrielle Crowley is a third year student studying English and Creative Writing. She previously worked for soliloquies as a prose editor. Her work has been published with The Ginger Collect, and her first chapbook, The Midnight Garden, will be published with Penrose Press in the fall of 2018. She drinks too much tea and is very passionate about dragons. 

 

Raphaëlla Vaillancourt is a third-year student at Concordia University. She is working on completing a BA in Creative Writing, with a minor in Professional Writing. A survivor of the flesh-eating disease, she blogs about the experience and her journey since. She also spent a year under the mentorship of Montreal author Monique Polak. Along with her work in non-fiction, she does freelance editing online. In 2016, a piece of her writing called “Breathing Lessons” was published in carte blanche.

Nicole Harris is currently an independent student at Concordia University, returning to her alma mater after completing a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature in 2014. She helped organize a Kahswentha Indigenous Knowledge Initiative titled, "Gender and Decolonization: A Resurgent Gathering" with visiting scholars from all over the world and taught English as a second language in Nepal at a non-government funded labour school. Her work has most recently appeared in Dreamscape, The Concordian, and QUEUC's annual conference proceedings publication.

Bronwyn Carere studies English and Creative Writing at Concordia University.  After two years of sculpting, animating, and existential-crisising at Emily Carr University of Art + Design, Bronwyn moved to Montreal, where she has since written for The Concordian, worked as content creator for multiple small companies, and earned a place on the Irving Layton Award short-list.

Anabelle Zaluski grew up in Toronto and moved to Montreal to pursue an honours degree in English and Creative Writing at Concordia. She finds strength in fiction and playwriting but enjoys all forms of art, and aims to explore the world both literally and through her work. Her writing has been featured in Montreal Writes, PS I Love You, and TamTams.

Avelynne Kang is a writer from Toronto in her third year of studies in English and Creative Writing at Concordia. Her poetry/fiction can be found in Seafoam, Fluland, Witchcraft mag and others. She hopes you're having a great day and that your projects toward freedom entail peace/civility. xoxo.

 

Celia Caldwell is originally from Washington, D.C but based in Montreal. She is beginning her second year as a double major in English and Creative Writing. Her work has appeared in Room 18 Zine and Daisy James Literary Magazine.

Lynn Sharpe is entering her fourth and final year at Concordia. She is majoring in Honours English Literature & Creative Writing as well as minoring in Film Studies. She is currently a contributor for Her Campus Concordia, writing articles mostly about film, television, and pop culture. She’s always loved creating stories in many different forms, often drawing inspiration from the people and events in her own life. She also enjoys reading both fiction and non-fiction, watching good (and bad) coming-of-age films, and talking about astrology.

Raised in Tkaronto (Toronto), Faith Paré is a rising poet and interdisciplinary artist studying English and Creative Writing. Her work has appeared in Shameless Magazine as the inaugural winner of the Talking Back Award in Poetry, and her play Immaculate Contraception was awarded the Colin Krivy Award for Playwriting from the McGill Drama Festival in 2018. When not writing, you can probably find her falling asleep on a metro car somewhere.

 

Paige Keleher is working on her undergraduate degree in Creative Writing. Along with being a poetry editor for soliloquies, she is also VP internal of the Concordia Association for Students in English and on the CSU as a representative of Arts and Science. If you see her on campus, she is always open to talking about Gilmore Girls and other TV shows that were popular 10+ years ago.

 

Abby Stewart hails from New Brunswick and is currently completing her honours degree in English Literature at Concordia University. She is passionate about connecting with others through a shared love of literature, and in her free time she can be found keeping track of life’s events in her journal. This is her first year on the Soliloquies team.

 

Elena Dakka is a third year student in English Literature and Film Studies at Concordia University. She is an aspiring author and enjoys feeling overwhelming emotions in order to express them in writing, particularly through poetry.

Bea Keeler is an artist, writer, musician, dog-mom, and perpetual student from Kingston, Ontario. She is in her final year of Creative Writing. Her debut album, Bygone, was released Fall 2017. She was a semi-finalist on Season 4 of The Voice Quebec. Her work, in various mediums, has been known to show up here and there. You can look her up on YouTube if you want.

Brenda Odria is an English Lit Major with a Minor in Professional Writing at Concordia. She currently writes for Flanelle Magazine and was featured in the Ha_happening ZINE sold at Phi Centre. Interests include but are not limited to reading prose and poetry, alliteration, astrology, online shopping and hypocritical rants about white privilege. Hania Peper is in her fourth year at Concordia University. She is majoring in communication and cultural studies while minoring in both professional writing and sustainability. Hania grew up surrounded by wilderness and the strong artistic communities of Vancouver Island. After high school, she spent a few years teaching English in Europe, and assisted local artists and writers. Hania’s experiences on Vancouver Island and abroad have opened her eyes to the power of narratives and their impact on the human condition. She hopes to use writing and creative media to promote awareness about cultural diversity and environmentalism.
